From Christopher Kane’s statement sleeves, to Mulberry’s understated stripes, London Fashion Week once again wowed us with some irresistibly inspiring shows. The catwalks a-flutter with our timeless favourites, Burberry, TOPSHOP and Jasper Conran (although we did truly miss the eccentricity of Vivienne Westwood!),
we delved a little deeper to view ASHISH’s unique display of diversity, from East to West.
Our love of fashion sees us visit far-flung lands to the East to discover beautiful jewellery from around the world. From Bali and Japan, to New York and the Caribbean, we work to create a fusion of Eastern and Western styles and cultures that appeal to gorgeous women everywhere – yes you! The exotic, colourful world of the East, paired with the indulgent heritage of the West simply sets our souls alight…
No less can be said for the wonders of Ashish Gupta’s beautiful collection that graced the stage of London Fashion Week this September. Showcasing Spring/Summer 2017, the catwalk was an abundance of colour, texture, light, and above all – diversity.
New Delhi-born, Ashish used his SS17 collection to bring his memories of India to life, whilst fusing British culture where diversity is as hot a topic now as it ever was. The ‘cultural appreciation’ of the collection saw slogan tees and pleated skirts teamed with elaborately bejewelled head dresses inspired by traditional Indian garb and strikingly theatrical make-up calling towards Hindu gods and goddesses. Though Gupta received heavy criticism for using Indian-inspired designs on both male and female models from a vast range of ethnicities, his point is exactly that – his love of forward-thinking, multicultural London took centre stage at LFW this season.
"I take pride in living in a diverse society and I think that needs to be reflected on the runway,"

Showcase statement pieces, neck collars, cuffs and head bands, and style BEGADA with structured black silhouettes or fluid layers of ivory chiffon.
Diverse in itself, Zevar celebrates India’s multiple cultures bound together by tradition. Selectively choosing artisans from across the country, the variation of Zevar Silver’s beautiful designs take note from India’s finest traditions. …And so from the depths of Maharashtra, West Bengal and New Delhi, back to the catwalks of London’s finest, this fusion of East meets West combines more than just fashion - and steps deeper to celebrate the magical realms of the truly diverse world we live in.
