Beautifully designed in Paris and handmade by local artisans in the majestic Andes Mountains of Peru. ILD. How did your brand begin?

I had the idea to build a luxury fur slipper brand for more than 10 years. My original business plan was 10 years ago when I started working on the idea of Baboosha. In 2016 I began researching and sourcing Ethical Fur Alpaca, high-end fashion designers, brand building and positioning, doing test shots and e-commerce solutions.

 

ILD. What have been the highest and lowest points on your journey so far?

The highest point hasn’t happened yet, we are continuing to climb in every sense. Monthly online sales are increasing, retail partners are increasing and we launch new colors every few months. We are continually on the rise. I prefer not to discuss our lowest points so far.

 

ILD.  What are your top trends for AW18

Baboosha slippers, of course!

 

ILD. How would you describe your customer base?

Fun. Lustrous. Young. Full of life. Adventurous. Early adopters in fashion.

 

 

ILD.  If you could only wear one piece from your collection, what would it be and why?

The SWIRL model. Keeps my feet warm, cozy and with plenty of breathing room. They feel super soft and they are just gorgeous to look at.

 

ILD. What would you like to achieve for your brand in the next 2 to 3 years?

We will create new designs, new colours and accessories. Hopefully open a store.

 

ILD. You've had a successful collection to date. Can you give us some snippets of your next collection?

We are launching 2 new colors. The Red in January and Orange in February.

 

ILD. What are your top 3 tips for someone wanting to break into the industry?

Position your brand/product as something different, hard work is mandatory, ignore stupid comments and follow your vision.
